I Been in the Storm So Long: Creative Imagination and Devotion to Ordinary Mystery

by: Krishna

Wed Mar 03, 2010 at 11:27 AM PST

This is a beautiful piece of artistic visionary-heart  expression by WDM mentor and musician/poet Geoff Oelsner from his CD "Ordinary Mystery".

Music and all artistic expression that stirs emotion and touches the Heart is our collective cultural heritage as Divinely Human Beings.
Reclaiming the heart of truth from our past traditions can be part of what it is to use creative imagination in the awakening life.

In the hands of the visionary-heart Jesus and God become Icons to contact Love, Comfort and Trust rather than being the idols of sectarian religion. Sometimes our deepest soul wants to sing thanks and the visionary-heart gives it an address; a Name. Sometimes our deepest soul needs to sing unbearable pain and again the visionary heart gives it an address.

God, Lord, Goddess, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Blessed Virgin, Kuan Yin, Krishna, Ram, Buddha, Beloved and Allah are just a few of the many Names that the heart of the world's people has cried out, yearning to be heard by the ears of the infinite. Whatever Name the heart uses, it uses it to reach the Mystery. The embrace of devotion is to give ourselves permission to save the baby from the bathwater.
